Perle D'Ivoire (Starspangledbanner) Wins Her Maiden At Clairefontaine

Front Running Filly Continues Fine Run For Starspangledbanner

Perle D’Ivoire (3f Starspangledbanner - Damsha Le Cheile) continued a terrific run for Starspangledbanner when gaining her maiden victory at Clairefontaine on Friday.

Having claimed runners-up honours on her first three starts, she was sent off favourite for the Prix Play Bonheur maiden over a mile. The Francis Graffard-trained bay made all under Pierre Charles Boudot and was ridden from the two furlong pole, running on well to hold off a strong challenge by Mademoiselle Emma. The winning margin was half a length.

Owned by Ecurie Lenglet, Perle D’Ivoire was bred by Macha Bloodstock out of a half-sister to Group 2 winner Stimulation (Choisir). She becomes the fourth maiden winner in a week by Starspangledbanner.
