Richenza Becomes The Latest Stakes Winner By Holy Roman Emperor

Holy Roman Emperor Filly Triumphs At Stakes Level

Saturday saw the Ralph Beckett-trained Richenza (4f Holy Roman Emperor - Nantha, by King’s Best) run out a convincing winner of the Listed Boadicea Stakes at Newmarket.

Twice Listed-placed in similar contests, she raced in mid-division for much of the six furlong race, and began to make headway from over two furlongs out. Ridden to lead approaching the final furlong, she ran on well to win by a length and three quarters.

It marked a maiden win at Stakes level for the bay, who is owned by Mrs Lynn Turner and Guy Brook. She was bred by SA Le Thenney and is the first foal out of the Group-placed mare Nantha.

Holy Roman Emperor commanded €15,000 during the 2019 season.
