Mare In-Foal to American Pharoah Sells for $390,000

American Pharoah saw the fifth most expensive in-foal mare of the Keeneland January Sale bring $390,000 when carrying his foal this week after St. George Sales purchased her from Eaton Sales.

A rwo-time winner by Scat Daddy, Siempre Mia is carrying to American Pharoah on an April 27 cover for her fifth foal. The mare is already a proven producer as the dam of last year’s Selima Stakes winner Consumer Spending.

This is a proven family of producers. Simpre Mia’s own dam not only won multiple graded stakes but is also the granddam of Lookin At Lucky’s Group III winner and Group I-placed Jacare and his stakes-placed Jactada.

American Pharoah’s only other in-foal mare to sell was purchased for $200,000 by Milam Farm from Four Star Sales. The Grade III-placed Courteous is carrying her second foal on a May 10 cover to the stallion.

Courteous is one of two winners out of a Vindication half-sister to stakes winner and multiple Group I-placed Tomahawk among others.

Triple Crown winner American Pharoah has proven to be a top sire, leading all in his generation by stakes winners, graded stakes winners, and Grade I performers with his three Grade I winners second to just one other stallion in the group.
