Swift One (No Nay Never) Gets Off The Mark At The Curragh

No Nay Never Colt Quickens Clear At The Curragh

Swift One (2c No Nay Never - Flavia Tatiana, by Holy Roman Emperor) realised his potential when running out a comfortable winner at the Curragh’s Irish Oaks meeting.

The Joseph O’Brien-trained colt had run in some competitive maidens and was last seen taking third behind The Acropolis (Churchill). Dropping back to six furlongs on Saturday, he was ridden to track the leaders by Mikey Sheehy and produced a challenge inside the final furlong. Running on strongly, he led from 110 yards out and kept on to score by two and a half lengths, with the same distance back to the third horse.

Speaking after the race, the winning trainer said, “All his maidens worked out well and we always liked him at home.”

Owned and bred by Mrs Anne Marie O’Brien, Swift One is a half-brother to Damselfly, a Group performer for connections.
