No Nay Never Colt Races Clear To Maiden Success

The Rain King (3c No Nay Never - Brigids Cross, by Sadler’s Wells) provided Donnacha O’Brien with his first Galway Festival success as a trainer when gaining his maiden success on Saturday.

Sent off favourite for the maiden over an extended mile, the bay raced prominently under Gavin Ryan and was pushed along in the straight. Making headway to lead inside the final furlong, he raced clear to win by two and three quarter lengths.

Bred by Brittas House Stud, The Rain King is owned by Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith and Mrs John Magnier. A half-brother to Listed winner We Are Ninety, the son of No Nay Never was a 250,000gns yearling purchase by MV Magnier.
