Pharoah Daughter In-Foal to Justify Sells for $1.5 Million

It was a Triple Crown double on Sunday at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale when Wertheimer Et Frere went to $1.5 million to purchase American Pharoah’s daughter Thinking of You in foal to Justify.

A multiple group placed mare, Thinking Of You’s page got better and better this year when her full sister Above The Curve won the Group I Prix Saint-Alary and was third in the Group I Prix de l’Opera Longines. They are two of the three runners out of Galileo daughter Fabulous.

Fabulous is out of the bluehen mare Mariah’s Storm, who produced Horse of the Year Giant’s Causeway and group winner You’resothrilling among her six stakes performers from eight winners. You’resothrilling herself is also a bluehen mare as the dam of classic winner and successful sire Gleneagles and Group I winners Happly, Joan of Arc, and Marvellous, among others.

American Pharoah was also the sire of a $375,000 weanling snapped up by Dixiana Farms.

Offered by Cara Bloodstock, the filly is a half-sister to Grade III winner and Grade I-placed Stays In Vegas and stakes winner Miss Technicality in addition to the dam of Classic Empire’s stakes winning Empress Tigress. The family also includes Grade I winner Persistently with the filly’s third dam the great racemare and broodmare Heavenly Prize.

Triple Crown winner and top sire American Pharoah’s three sold at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale averaged $675,000 with a median of $375,000.
