Promising Rock Of Gibraltar Colt Goes One Better

The Andrew Balding-trained After Eight (3c Rock Of Gibraltar - Peppermint Green, by Green Desert) built on two promising starts to land Wednesday’s ten furlong maiden at Lingfield.

Runner-up on both his previous starts, the son of Rock Of Gibraltar was sent off favourite under Callum Hutchinson, who rode him to track the leader. Asserting from two furlongs out, the bay kept on well to score by a length and three quarters, his rivals strung out behind him.

Bred by Michael Shefflin, After Eight is bred on a similar cross to Group 2 winners Belle De Crecy (Rock Of Gibraltar) and LA Rocket (Rock Of Gibraltar).
