Reframe 30th Stakes Winner for American Pharoah

American Pharoah’s talented daughter Reframe (4f American Pharoah x Careless Jewel, by Tapit) broke through at the stakes level in Tokyo on Sunday with a win in the Listed Paradise Stakes for her first stakes victory.

Racing over seven furlongs on the turf, Reframe broke well and raced in a relaxed second until the field hit the stretch. At that point she took command and did a bit of her trademark drifting but had more than enough left to keep the field at bay by a neck.

Trained by Yoichi Kuroiwa for Yusuke Yamaguchi, it’s the fifth career win for the Summer Wind Farm-bred daughter of Grade I winner Careless Jewel, with the filly winning at least one start in each of her three seasons on the track.

Careless Jewel is one of five winners from her own dam, a half-sister to dual Grade I winner Subordination with Grade I winners Fabulous Notion, Fabulously Fast, City of Light, Cacoethes, Fiji, and Java’s War under her next dam.

The sire of 30 stakes winners American Pharoah’s 30 Japanese runners have yielded 22 stakes winners and three stakes winners, led by dual Grade I winner Café Pharoah
