Solage Becomes The Latest Stakes Winner By Galileo

Solage Adds To Galileo’s Terrific Weekend

Solage (3f Galileo - Secrete, by Cape Cross) became Galileo’s fourth Stakes winner of the weekend when taking the Listed Bluebell Stakes at Naas on Sunday.

Bought by Meridian Internation for €1million following her debut second in October, she won her maiden impressively on her seasonal return and first start for Ballylinch Stud, Ecurie Des Charmes and Jim Bolger.

Sunday saw her step up to a mile and a half for the first time, with Kevin Manning positioning her in mid-division for much of the way. Making headway from two furlongs out, she disputed the lead entering the final furlong and kept on well to gain a three quarter length advantage on the line, with just a head back to Camphor (Camelot) in third.

Bred by Ecurie des Monceaux, Solage is out of a half-sister to Group 1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud heroine Plumania and Group 2 winner Balladeuse, herself the dam of Group 1 winner Left Hand.
