George Peabody (Holy Roman Emperor) winning at Doncaster

Son Of Holy Roman Emperor Records Stylish Maiden Victory

George Peabody (3g Holy Roman Emperor - Swordhalf, by Haafhd) quickened clear to run out a smart winner of Sunday’s seven furlong Novice Stakes at Doncaster.

A promising fourth on debut in November, the George Scott-trained bay was ridden by Callum Shepherd on return and raced in midfield in the early stages. Making headway approaching the two furlong marker, he was ridden clear inside the final furlong and won by three and a quarter lengths on the line.

George Peabody was bought as a yearling for 90,000gns by owners the Gredley Family, whose homebred colt Too Friendly won his maiden at the track the previous day. The son of Holy Roman Emperor was bred by Gestut Wittekindshof and is bred to improve with time, as a half-brother to Stakes winning four-year-olds Satomi and Sword Peinture (Peintre Celebre).
