Dickiedooda (Starspangledbanner) Wins On Debut At The Curragh

Starspangledbanner Filly Sprints To Debut Success

Dickiedooda (2f Starspangledbanner - So Dandy, by Oratorio) shaped as an exciting prospect when making a winning debut at the Curragh on Saturday.

The Jessica Harrington-trained filly had clearly proven herself at home, as the market sent her off favourite for the five furlong fillies maiden. Shane Foley rode the chesnut to make all and asked his mount to quicken approaching the final furlong, with the filly racing on well under hands and heels to win by a length and a quarter.

Assistant trainer Kate Harrington was later full of praise for the winner and said, “Dickiedooda is a very uncomplicated filly and is a lovely filly. Whether she takes the same path as Albigna, we'll have to wait and see.”

The daughter of Starspangledbanner is owned by Alpha Racing and was bred by Mylestown Farms out of a close relation to Stakes performer She’s My Dandy (Holy Roman Emperor).
