Terrific Run Continues For No Nay Never At Tattersalls

The effects of Alcohol Free’s Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes victory could be felt at the following week’s Tattersalls Book 1 Yearling Sale, where her sire No Nay Never reached the leading sire table with total turnover of 3,309,000gns.

16 yearlings by the son of Scat Daddy sold for an average price of 206,813gns, with top billing awarded to Newsells Park Stud’s half-brother to champion three-year-old sprinter Mince. Ben McElroy, acting on behalf of MV Magnier, secured the chesnut with a bid of 650,000gns.

Among Magnier’s other purchases was a No Nay Never colt out of a half-sister to three Stakes winners, for which he went to 350,000gns. The colt was offered by Camas Park Stud, who enjoyed another good result with their No Nay Never colt out of Madam Baroque. Bought as a foal for 130,000gns, the bay was knocked down to Badgers Bloodstock for 240,000gns.

Grove Stud was another consignor to reap the rewards of No Nay Never, when selling their grandson of Group 3 winner Kamarinskaya to Kevin Ryan for 325,000gns. The colt cost 115,000gns at the venue’s December Foal Sale, where he was offered by Stringston Farm.

Lot 204 from The Castlebridge Consignment benefitted from an important update since the catalogue was printed, with the filly’s full-sister Amanzi Yimpolo (No Nay Never) having won the Speakeasy Stakes at Santa Anita. The well-related filly fetched 475,000gns from Canary Bloodstock.

11 yearlings by No Nay Never sold for six-figure prices over the three days, with purchasers including Mike Ryan, Roger Varian, Charlie Gordon Watson and Longways Stables.
