$300,000 Colts for Merchant Navy

The first yearlings by Royal Ascot hero Merchant Navy were bought by some great judges at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale with top honours shared by two colts that sold for $300,000 each.

The Coolmore consigned colt (pictured) from Chasing Mammon is handsome bay like his sire and a three-quarter brother to Group I winner Sherwood Forest and stakes-winner Royal Ocean. He was snapped up by Ciaron Maher Bloodstock / Mark Pilkington Management (FBAA).

Also selling for $300,000 was the colt from stakes-winner Shigeru Sendan that was offered by Fernrigg Farm and bought by High Street Racing Pty Ltd.

The top priced filly for Merchant Navy was the Segenhoe Stud consigned half-sister to Group II winner and $3million earner Away Game that made $280,000 when bought by Mark Pilkington Management.

Merchant Navy had 12 yearlings average $166,667.
