Mollie The Moo (Requinto) winning a maiden at Limerick

Black-type next for exciting Requinto filly

Ger Lyons plans to step Mollie The Moo (3f Requinto-Altogether, by King’s Best) up to stakes company following the Requinto filly’s easy success at Limerick on Saturday.

Carrying the colours of Tony O’Callaghan, the filly asserted in the final stages of the seven-furlong maiden to see off her 15 rivals.

"I'm delighted with that. It suited going quick today and basically she has done what we thought she'd do from her homework,” said Shane Lyons, assistant to his brother. "She doesn't want heavy or quick ground but the ground is proper good ground today. I'm delighted for Tony and Roger O'Callaghan as they are great supporters of the yard and everything they send our way, seems to work. She'll look for black-type next - it's very important for these fillies." Jockey Colin Keane added: "She gave me a lovely run round and picked up well when I needed her to. Off that run she will get another furlong no bother. They'll hopefully get a bit of black-type for her with a bit of luck." Mollie The Moo was bred by Laurence and David Gleeson.
