Proscenium Arch (So You Think) winning at Sandown

Brilliant Debut 2YO Winner for So You Think

The Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young stable won the opening juvenile race at Sandown on Wednesday with exciting filly Proscenium Arch (2f So You Think x It's Our Showtime, by Showcasing).

They saddled race favourite Guru Ram Das and Proscenium Arch, although there was not a lot between them in the market, but at the finishing line there was nearly four lengths between the talented pair.

Guru Ram Das missed the kick by a couple of lengths and found herself settling last, while Proscenium Arch jumped smoothly and settled in the lead for Craig Newitt.

Guru Ram Das worked into the race and put herself in a position to challenge, but her effort was futile as Proscenium Arch produced a lethal gear change to charge away and win as she pleased.

“She’s shown us a lot at home obviously,” said Natalie Young.

“She got to the front and let down really nicely, I thought she might float a little bit, but it’s a great result for her owners.

“She’s going to be a smart filly going forward.”

A $220,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Busuttin Racing / Clarke Bloodstock from the Maluka Thoroughbreds draft, Proscenium Arch runs for a syndicate headed by Cunningham Thoroughbreds.

Bred by Cambridge Stud’s Brendan and Jo Lindsay in partnership with David Redvers, she is the first winner for Its Our Showtime, a winning half-sister by Showcasing (GB) to Group I winner Inspirational Girl, stakes-winner Ruetigger and Group III placed Brookspire.

So You Think has had five 2YO winners this season from just 14 runners which bodes well for the season ahead with his star 2YO colt Political Debate returning to the Chris Waller stable this week.

The sire of the winners of over $19million in prizemoney this season, So You Think stands at a fee of $93,500 this spring.
