Calyx Foals Impress at Goffs November Foal Sale

Australian breeders have been well pleased with the first Australian foals born this spring by Kingman’s brilliant son Calyx, whose first Northern Hemisphere bred foals made a good impression during the Goffs November Foal Sale on Wednesday.

Consigned by the Castlebridge Consignment, a stunning Calyx filly from stakes-winner We Are Ninety sold for €125,000 (A$195,000) to the bid of WH Bloodstock.

Earlier in the day a colt from Lisanor, consigned by Moortown House stud sold for €115,000 (A$179,000) when secured by Yeomanstown Stud.

The colt is a half-brother to Group III winner Mintd from a proven Black Type family.

A fast and precious Group II winner on the track, Calyx is the first son of Invincible Spirit’s champion son Kingman to go to stud and is currently standing his second season in Australia at a fee of $13,750.
