Daughter of Yeats Extends Unbeaten Chase Record

Tintangle (6m Yeats - Connaught Hall, by Un Desperado) made it two from two over fences when justifying favoritism in the Mares Chase at Clonmel on Thursday.

A Listed bumper winner and Grade 1 placed over hurdles, the Gordon Elliott-trained bay made a winning start to her chase career at Fairyhouse earlier in the month. Stepping up in trip by two and a half furlongs, Rachael Blackmore rode her to make all, coming under pressure from the third last and was ridden out on the run-in to win by two and a half lengths.

The Gigginstown House Stud-owned winner was bred by Kevin O’Brien and was bought by her trainer as a three-year-old for €52,000. A half-sister to the talented Tombstone, her Yeats full-brother sold to Martin Brassil for €185,000 at this year’s Goffs Land Rover Sale.
