Pride Of Dubai head shot

G3 Victory for Pride of Dubai Filly

Quality filly Just Beautiful (3f Pride of Dubai x Astrelle, by Makfi) scored a career best win in the Group III Sceptre Fillies Stakes (7f) at Doncaster in the UK on Wednesday.

Trained by Ivan Furtado and ridden by Silvestre de Sousa, Just Beautiful raced on the pace and stuck to her guns to score a tenacious head win over four year-old mare Double or Bubble.

Already a Listed winner earlier this year, Just Beautiful has been super consistent with five wins and a second from just seven starts and holds an entry for the Group I Newmarket Sun Chariot Stakes (1m) on October 2.

“That was unbelievable, she is some filly to do what she's done. Just Beautiful has won five out of seven, been second in a Group 3 and ran a great race in probably the best Falmouth (G1) of the last few years,” said Ivan Furtado.

“We've always liked her, she started to come to herself in September-time last year. She came to herself and we thought we had something special. Fortunately we did! Whether she stays in training next year or goes to the broodmare sale is a question mark but if the ground is right we could go for the Sun Chariot.”

Bought for a bargain 8,000 guineas from the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 3, Just Beautiful is a half-sister to Group II winner Fearless King being from Group III placed Astrelle, a half-sister by Makfi to Group II winner Porsenna and stakes-winner Basileus.

Her second dam is by Hussonet, which is somewhat unusual for a European pedigree, but his blood is quite prevalent in Australia so it’s worth noting.

Just Beautiful is one of 11 stakes-winners for Pride of Dubai, who stands at the affordable fee of $22,000 this spring.
