Improving Son Of Yeats Lands Novice Hurdle

Scots Poet (6g Yeats - Blue Nymph, by Selkirk) made a successful return from a break to lead home a 1-2 for Coolmore NH sires in Tuesday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Sedgefield.

The winner of a bumper last year, the Ewan Whillans-trained bay was last seen finishing second in December and was ridden by Craig Nichol for the first time on Tuesday. Racing prominently throughout, he led approaching the final flight and was ridden out to beat Rock Legend (Maxios) by a length and a half.

Bred by Distillery Stud, the son of Yeats is raced by the Distillery Racing Club.
