Ivawood Filly Beats Proven Rivals To Gain Maiden Win

Sopran Ival (2f Ivawood - Reign, by Elusive City) ran out a four length winner of Sunday’s six furlong conditions race in Milan to become the latest first crop winner by her sire, Ivawood.

Trained by Grizzetti Galoppo for Leonardo Ciampoli, her win was made more impressive by the runner-up, the previous dual winner Lovely Smile, while there was another five lengths back to the third horse.

Sopran Iva was bred by M Davison and D Kitchin and is a half-sister to Listed winner Gold Tail. She continues a promising start at stud by Ivawood, who commands €5,000 at Castlehyde.
