Progressive Ivawood Filly Races Clear
The progressive Hot Affair (2f Ivawood - Romp, by Pivotal) continued on an upward curve when making all to win the five furlong Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Ripon on Tuesday.
Trained by Tom Dascombe for Clipper Logistics, she finished second last time out over course and distance, having learnt plenty on debut the previous month. Danny Tudhope rode the bay to make all, asking her to quicken over a furlong from home and she dually obliged, running on well to win by three lengths and a quarter.
Tudhope commented after the race, “All that Hot Affair has done is improve, she's going the right way.”
The first crop daughter of Ivawood was bred by Miss JK Keir and was sold by Jane Keir through Elkington Stud as a yearling, when she was bought by Joe Foley for 40,000gns. She is the first foal out of her dam, a winning daughter of black-type performer Short Affair.
Hot Affair continues a promising start at stud by top-two-year-old Ivawood, who went on to be placed in both the Irish and English Guineas. He commands €5,000 at Castlehyde Stud.
