Requinto Close Up

Requinto on a roll

York maiden winner Kruger Park (2c Requinto-Definite Opinion, by Kheleyf) continued a great weekend for Requinto on Sunday when scoring for trainer Richard Fahey.

The speedy colt, bred by Edward and Mrs S Hannigan, stepped up on his promising debut run to see off some well-touted opposition for an easy success under Tony Hamilton.

“We thought he would win (on his debut) at Pontefract but he got stage fright,” Fahey’s assistant Robin O’Ryan told the Racing Post. “Tony said he did everything right today. He is a nice horse for next year.”

Kruger Park was scoring 24 hours after Little Clarinet (2f Requinto-Filandre, by Cadeaux Genereux) won a 16-runner Navan maiden for trainer David Marnane.
