Son Of Dylan Thomas Impresses On Hurdle Debut
Bumper winner Milkwood (5g Dylan Thomas - Tropical Lake, by Lomond) made a winning start to his hurdle career when taking the Maiden Hurdle at Hereford on Tuesday.
The Neil Mulholland-trained bay was last seen winning a bumper in April under James Best, who was back on board on Tuesday. Held up at the back of the field, he made good headway from three out and was shaken up to lead on the run-in. Quickening well, he extended his advantage to four and a half lengths with minimum fuss.
Owned by Ms J Bridel, Milkwood was bred by John Boden and Willie Kane out of the smart dual-purpose mare Tropical Lake. She has previously produced two hurdle winners, as well as three black-type performers on the flat.
