Son Of Dylan Thomas Remains Unbeaten Over Hurdles
Brandon Castle (7g Dylan Thomas - Chelsey Jane, by Galileo) remains unbeaten over hurdles when running out an impressive winner of the two mile hurdle at Plumpton on Monday.
The style of his two previous hurdle victories saw the Neil King-bay sent off favourite under regular rider Bryony Frost. Making all, as he did last time out, he was clear from the fifth hurdle and continued to extend his advantage thereafter, crossing the line nine lengths in front of his nearest rival.
Neil King commented after the race, “His jumping is so impressive, quick and economical. Brandon Castle came with a reputation of needing soft ground but today's ground was no problem.”
Now owned by I.A. Low and J.S. English, Brandon Castle previously raced on the flat and won the valuable Queen’s Cup Handicap at Musselburgh last March. Bred by Barry Walters, he holds an entry in next month’s Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
