Son Of Yeats Maintains Perfect Chase Record

Brief Ambition (7g Yeats - Kentucky Sky, by Cloudings) made it two from two over fences when justifying favouritism in Monday’s Novices’ Chase at Ludlow.

An easy winner of a similar contest earlier this month, the Fergal O’Brien-trained bay was ridden to make all by Paddy Brennan and was shaken up from three out. Ridden from the second last, he was eased down close home to win by three parts of a length.

Having gained his first career success in a point-to-point for Peter Flood, Brief Ambition also won twice over hurdles last season and previously gained black-type in a bumper. Bred by T Wood, the smart son of Yeats is owned by C Coley, D Porter, Harry Redknapp and Paul Smith.
