Crypto Currency (Yeats) Wins The 4YO Maiden At Kirkistown

Son Of Yeats Races Clear At Kirkistown

Tom Keating was full of praise for Crypto Currency (4g Yeats - Jeunopse, by Hawk Wing) after his charge ran a comfortable winner of Saturday’s Four-Year-Old Maiden at Kirkstown.

Third at the first attempt earlier this month, the bay was ridden to chase the leaders by Ray Barron and led before the second last. Clear at the final fence, he kept on well to win by seven lengths.

Keating, who also owns the winner, later said Crypto Currency is the best horse he has trained to date. The son of Yeats provides Nina Carberry with her first winner as a breeder and his success bodes well for his two-year-old brother by Milan.

The following day at Uttoxeter, Yeats was responsible for another smart type, as Could Be Trouble (6m Yeats - She’s No Trouble, by Zaffaran) made it two from two for the Donald McCain yard.

Sold after winning her maiden hurdle impressively for Barry Fitzgerald, the bay made a successful start for new connections earlier this month and was sent off second favourite for the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle over two and a half miles. Making all under Theo Gillard, she quickened from three out and kept on well on the run-in to win by three and a half lengths.

Now owned by KC Sofas Ltd, Could Be Trouble was bred by Mountain View Stud in Tipperary.
