Churchill X Belle Famille yearling colt conformation shot

Strong Premier Sale for Churchill

Exciting young sire Churchill has had some great results at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in the past two days with three yearlings averaging $203,333.

His top seller so far has been a handsome bay colt (pictured) from stakes-placed Belle Famille (IRE) that made $225,000 for Blue Gum Farm as agent for Dorrington Farm when purchased by Lindsay Park Racing.

Not far behind was a beautiful Churchill filly from Magnesic that made $205,000, again for Blue Gum Farm as agent for Dorrington Farm, when snapped up by McEvoy Mitchell / Belmont Bloodstock.

Damon Gabbedy of Belmont Bloodstock is purchasing with Tony and Calvin McEvoy at this sale and is a huge fan of Churchill.

“He’s a first season sire that I absolutely love,” Gabbedy told Breednet.

“He was a serious racehorse, probably one of the most serious racehorses to be imported to this country and by the world’s leading sire in Galileo.

“The filly from Magnesic is from a real running mare by Magnus and bred by Robert Crabtree who is having a great run and a great sale. She was a beautiful floating, easy filly and we just adored her.”

The filly has obviously impressed her breeder Robert Crabtree as she was one of 119 mares that was covered by Churchill last spring.
