$575,000 Colt for Shanghai Bobby

Exciting young sire Shanghai Bobby made a big splash at the 2016 Keeneland September Yearling Sale on Tuesday when his colt from Coolwind sold for $575,000.

Offered by Blandford Stud and bought by Mayberry Farm, the star colt is a half-brother to Grade III winner Looking Cool from stakes-winning Forest Wildcat mare Coolwind.

He was bred by Padraig Campion, who was delighted with the result.

“This one is a good advertisement for his sire,” he told Bloodhorse Daily.

“He’s got the balance and the class. He’s been shown 90 times a day for four days and he’s still willing, walking without any urging.”

Shanghai Bobby also had a good result with a colt from Disturbingly Hot selling for $250,000.

The Champion 2YO Colt of 2012, Shanghai Bobby has 52 entries spread across the entire sale.
