6-length pointing winner for Sans Frontieres
Sans Frontieres’s first crop may have only just turned four this year but they are already making their mark on the point-to-point circuit.
On Saturday at Durrow, the Pierce Power-trained Treasure Dillon (4g Sans Frontieres-Treasure Trix, by Flemensfirth) made an eye-catching winning debut.
The four-year-old, bred by Jennifer Cox, travelled well throughout and made his move to pick up the lead on the approach to the second-last fence, before lengthening his advantage to the last to score comfortably by six lengths in the hands Sean O’Keeffe.
P2p.ie commented: “A strong early pace was set by this nice bunch of debutants. Treasure Dillon raced prominently throughout in the hands of Sean O'Keeffe to give his sire Sans Frontieres a first four year old winner. He is now for sale.”
Sans Frontieres is also the sire of the Peter Flood-trained Grange Castle Lad (4g Sans Frontieres-Griffith Avenue by Oscar), who ran a race full of promise to be second on his debut at Kirkistown. He was subsequently sold for £80,000 to Mags O’Toole at at the Tattersalls Ireland sale during the Cheltenham Festival.
