Victory Command (War Command) winning a novice stakes at Beverley

9-length win completes three-timer for War Command juvenile

Brilliantly tough two-year-old Victory Command (2c War Command-Aguinaga, by Machiavellian) enjoyed his third victory in little more than a month when scoring at Beverley on Tuesday.

The Mark Johnston-trained colt, bred by Joe Higgins, won at Doncaster on May 19 then followed up at Beverley on June 19 before triumphing at the same track a week later, cruising home to a nine-length victory.

“We hoped Victory Command would be able to win like that and we put him in the Spindrifter at Pontefract next Monday so we will see what that race looks like,” said Charlie Johnston, assistant to his father.

In-form War Command was also on the mark less than 24 hours earlier when the Stuart Williams-trained newcomer Watchmyevermove (2c War Command-Glympse, by Spectrum) won a Windsor maiden.
