Ask novice shines for Greatrex

Don’t Ask (4g Ask-Outback Ivy, by Bob Back) made an auspicious start to his jumping career with a stylish victory at Bangor on Saturday on his first run over hurdles. Gavin Sheehan made all aboard the Ask gelding, who was bred by Jonathan Deacon, in the 2m 1f novices’ hurdle to eventually prevail by a length and three-quarters from bumper winner Whiskey In The Jar. Don’t Ask showed great resilience to win and Oliver Kozak, assistant to winning trainer Warren Greateex, told the Racing Post: “Don't Ask's still a big baby. He stays well and is honest, and we'll probably look at two and a half miles for him next time.”
