Star Gate (Imperial Monarch) Wins The 4 Yo Maiden At Belharbour

Bowe Strikes Gold Again With Son Of Imperial Monarch

Evan Williams went to £140,000 to secure Four-Year-Old Maiden winner Star Gate (4g Imperial Monarch - Supreme Judge, by Brian Boru) at Friday’s Tattersalls Cheltenham February Sale.

Bought by the trainer on behalf of owners Mr and Mrs Rucker, Star Gate becomes the second six-figure point-to-pointer by Imperial Monarch, whose first crop are now five-year-olds.

The Colin Bowe-trained bay made a winning debut at Belharbour earlier in the month, with the margin of three lengths not doing justice to the manner of his victory.

Imperial Monarch has made a promising start at stud and in fact sired a maiden double at the popular Belharbour fixture. Colin Bowe has also previously enjoyed success with the young Beeches Stud sire, having won a four-year-old maiden with Cill Anna, who has since won twice over hurdles for Paul Nicholls.
