Brittanic (Excelebration) winning a maiden at Newcastle

Debut Excelebration winner for Simcock

Excelebration’s superb year on the racecourse shows no sign of letting up and he had another smart first-time winner at Newcastle on Thursday.

Newmarket trainer David Simcock sent out Brittanic (2c Excelebration-Fountain Of Peace, by Kris S) to make an auspicious start to his racing career with a comfortable success under Tom Eaves.

“Brittanic is a nice horse. He travelled well and won in good style,” said Eaves.

The Racing Post commented: “He won with more in hand than the winning margin suggested and he's the type to hold his own in stronger company. He´ll have no problems with 1m and this scopey sort is one to keep on the right side.”

A €72,000 purchase from the Arqana Breeze-Up Sale in May, he was bred by Fountain Syn and Flaxman Stables.

Excelebration is standing for €10,000 in 2017.
