Speak In Colours (Excelebation) Wins The Renaissance Stakes at the Curragh

Excelebration Colt Secures Fourth Stakes Success

Speak In Colours (4c Excelebration - Maglietta Fina, by Verglas) gained his fourth Stakes success when justifying favoritism in the Group 3 Renaissance Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday.

Two of his black-type victories had come over course and distance of six furlongs and he boasted strong form, having finished fourth at Group 1 and Group 2 level earlier in the season. He led briefly under Shane Crosse, who was happy to track the leaders when headed and waited until approaching the final furlong to regain the lead. Downforce soon produced a strong challenge, forcing Speak In Colours to kick into an extra gear and the grey ran on well to score by a length and a quarter.

The Mrs CC Regalado-Gonzalez owned grey was purchased privately after winning a Listed race as a juvenile for breeders Scuderia Archi Romani. He is the first foal out of Maglietta Fina, a winning half-sister to multiple Stakes winner Tulius.

Excelebration commands €8,000 at Castlehyde Stud.
