Lomachenko Provides Sans Frontieres With His First Winner

First Winner An Impressive One For Sans Frontieres

Lomachenko (4g Sans Frontieres- Midnight Orchid, by Petardia) became a first winner by his Beeches Stud sire when running out a six length winner of the maiden hurdle at Leicester on Friday.

Ridden towards the back of the nine runner field by Darl Jacob, the Nicky Henderson-trained chestnut improved to lead two flights from home and was ridden out to the line, as short-priced favourite Accordingtogino did his best to narrow the gap.

Daryl Jacob, who donned the recognisable silks of Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, later said, “That was a good performance from Lomachenko and I'd like to think he can keep progressing from here.”

Lomachenko was bred by M Cummins from a covering fee of €2,500.
