G3 success for Choisir 2yo

The Last Lion (2c Choisir-Mala Mala, by Brief Truce) could make a quick reappearance next week after running out a hugely-impressive winner of the G3 Sirenia Stakes at Kempton on Saturday. The Choisir colt powered clear in the home straight to take the six-furlong contest by four lengths for trainer Mark Johnston and jockey Joe Fanning.

The Last Lion, who was having his eighth run of the season, is entered in the G2 Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster and Megan Dennis, who owns the colt with John Brown, told the Racing Post that that contest is a possibility.

“He’s in at Doncaster and he takes his racing so well you couldn’t rule it out. He also holds an entry in the Group 1 Middle Park at Newmarket later this month,” said Dennis.
