Morisco Becomes The Latest Winner By Requinto Resized

Improving Requinto Colt Gains Maiden Win

The Tom Dascombe-trained Morisco (2c Requinto - Mattinata, by Tiger Hill) showed significant improvement to win his second start at Newcastle on Saturday.

Fifth on his first attempt earlier in the month, he remained over seven furlongs and raced towards the back of the field under Jane Elliott. Driven from two furlongs out, he made good headway to lead inside the final furlong, running on well to beat Flylikeaneagle by a length and a quarter.

Morisco was bred by Kildaragh Stud, who sold him as a yearling for €45,000 to Sackville Donald on behalf of owner Mrs Caroline Ingram. He is a full-brother to dual winner Howzer Black (Requinto), bred out of a half-sister to five black-type performers, including multiple Stakes winner and Group 1 second Macleya.
