International Winner for Competitive Edge

Exciting young sire Competitive Edge scored his 16th worldwide winner on Friday when Adele Spike (2f Competitive Edge x Ice Curlin, by Curlin) broke her maiden at Busan in South Korea.

Ridden by Jin Kyum for trainer Baik Kwang Yeol it was the third start for the filly, who had finished third in her last appearance three weeks ago for owner Janghyun Lee. The filly’s dam Ice Curlin was sold to K.O.I.D while carrying Adele Spike at the 2016 Keeneland November Breeding Stock from the Vinery Sales consignment.

Adele Spike is the first foal out of Ice Curlin, who is a half-sister to two stakes winners and a further two stakes placed horses including the dam of Grade III winner Classy Class.

Competitive Edge’s first crop is led by four stakes winners to tie as the top First-Crop Sire by stakes winners, the stallion also sits No. 3 on the rankings by earnings with his first runners making over $1 million this year.
