Isole Maldive (War Command) winning a maiden at San Siro

Isole wins on debut for War Command

Isole Maldive (2fWar Command-Hairicin, by Hurricane Run) will go into the record books as War Command’s first winner after scoring in eye-catching fashion in Rome on Tuesday.

Trained by Melania Cascione for her husband Sebastiano Guerrieri, the filly broke slowly in the six-furlong maiden before making up ground impressively to win by a length and a quarter on her debut.

EBN commented: “Newcomer Isole Maldive overcame a slow break and ran on well to score easily from Bridge Shanasand (Footstepsinthesand), providing her sire, the Gr.1 Dewhurst Stakes and the Gr.2 Coventry Stakes winner War Command (War Front), with his first winner.”

Isole Maldive was bred in Ireland by Leon O’Coileain.

Meanwhile, look out also for the Mark Johnston-trained Victory Command (2c War Command-Aguinaga, by Machiavellian) who went into many notebooks when finishing third on his first start at Thirsk the same afternoon.
