War Command head shot

Johnston’s Victory heads 1-2 for War Command

Victory Command (2c War Command-Aguinaga, by Machiavellian) brought further first crop success for War Command when scoring on Tuesday.

The Mark Johnston-trained colt led home a 1-2 for his sire when finishing ahead of Archie Watson’s Arden Warrior (2c War Command-Glowing Star, by Clodovil) in a Beverley novices' contest.

The Racing Post commented of the winner: “The War Command colt is a typically hardy horse for the yard who relishes quick ground and there were clearly no trip concerns stepping up to nearly 1m. He was sent straight to the front from a modest draw and completely dominated in tough fashion once asked to quicken towards the bottom of the incline."

Victory Command was bred by Joseph Higgins.
