More Cash for Diamond Earth
Talented filly Diamond Earth (2f Choisir x Face of the Earth, by Strategic) has been superbly placed by her trainer Anthony Cummings to score a series of lucrative wins. The speedy chestnut won her third race from seven starts at Scone on Saturday when she made full use of gate one to lead throughout, before holding on to win the 1100 metre $140,000 Arrowfield Open 2YO Fillies event by the best part of a length. A $60,000 purchase for her trainer from the Golden Grove draft at the 2011 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Diamond Earth has won a whopping $483,500 for her large group of owners, the bulk of it coming from lucrative wins in the Inglis Banner and Inglis Nursery. She is a half-sister to smart three year-old filly Halle Rocks being the second foal of stakes-placed Strategic mare Face of the Earth, a half-sister to Group III winner and Caulfield Guineas runner-up Face Value. Diamond Earth was foaled and raised at Coolmore for her breeders Dr Denis O’Brien and his wife Claire, who retained Halle Rocks to race before sending this filly to the sales. The current yearling from Face of the Earth, a filly by Danehill Dancer was sold at Magic Millions for $310,000 to Gai Waterhouse/James Harron Bloodstock and there is a weanling colt by Duke of Marmalade to come.
