More Smart Winners for Shanghai Bobby
The winning run being enjoyed by exciting young sire Shanghai Bobby continued on Wednesday with two promising new winners at Saratoga and Del Mar.
Second on debut at Finger Lakes in June, the Jeremiah C. Englehart trained filly Jaded Lady (2f Shanghai Bobby x Gem’s Classy Lady, by Grand Slam) went one better in the five and a half furlong turf maiden proving tenacious to the line to win by half a length.
Improving colt Lord Guiness (3c Shanghai Bobby x Simply Symphony, by Consolidator) broke the ice at Del Mar at his fourth start. Prepared by William E. Morey, Lord Guiness relished the step up to a mile, cruising home to win by a length and a half.
With his oldest progeny just three year-olds, Shanghai Bobby is building an impressive record with 10 stakes-winners in North and South America headed by his pair of Grade I winners Inforcer and Habile Bobby, not to mention his Royal Ascot Grade II winner Shang Shang Shang.
