More success for Dylan Thomas
There was more first-crop glory for six-time G1 winner Dylan Thomas on Wednesday when What’s Up (2f Dylan Thomas-Ridotto, by Salse) ran away with a competitive Folkestone maiden. The Jim Boyle-trained filly had come on from her first start in a Newbury maiden as she ran out a length and a quarter winner of the seven-furlong Folkestone contest under Eddie Ahern. The winning rider believes there could be better to come from his mount, a half-sister to G2 Cherry Hinton Stakes and G2 Lowther Stakes runner-up Salsa Brava bred by Crone Stud Farms in Ireland. “She did that nicely, she’s obviously come on mentally for her first run. I could just see the other horse tiring and she picked up well. I think there is definitely some scope for improvement there,” Ahern told www.racingpost.com.
