More To Come From Son Of Zoffany After Debut Win

The Pam Sly-trained Drummond Warrior (3g Zoffany - Ulanova, by Noverre) made a winning debut in Monday’s six furlong Novice Stakes at Windsor.

Ridden by Shane Kelly, the bay showed signs of inexperience when breaking slowly but then impressed by making good headway to join the leaders over two furlongs out. Ridden to lead approaching the final furlong, he was pushed out to hold off Alliseeisnibras by a head.

Owned by his trainer in partnership with GA Libson, Drummond Warrior was bred by Ronan Fitzpatrick and sold as a foal for €55,000. He is a half-brother to Listed performer Avomcic, out of a half-sister to multiple Stakes winner Cheyenne Star and to the dam of evergreen sprinter Gordon Lord Byron, from the family of top miler Barney Roy (Excelebration).
