Pretty Edgy Stays Undefeated For Competitive Edge
Pretty Edgy (3f Competitive Edge x Lily’s Spark, by Mineshaft) took her record to two-from-two on Friday when running away with her 2020 debut.
Racing over six furlongs on the dirt, Pretty Edgy was last early on in the tight field. It didn’t take the filly long to decide she didn’t like that position however, and she shot to the lead in the far turn to take control of the pace. By the time they hit the stretch, Pretty Edgy had nearly three lengths on the field under a hand ride.
She was eased down by jockey Lauralea Glaser near the wire to cross the line a deceptively small two lengths in front for trainer Richard Sillaman and owner LBR Racing Stable.
The Aschinger Bloodstock-bred filly is out of Lily’s Spark, a half-sister to Grade II winner Prayer For Relief, and is one of eight winners from 11 runners out of granddaughters of A.P. Indy.
Competitive Edge is the sire of 37 worldwide winners including six stakes horses led by four stakes winners.
