Remanah Provides Competitive Edge Saudi Arabia Winner
Competitive Edge recorded his 27th Northern Hemisphere winner on Friday when Remanah (2f Competitive Edge x Precious Brownie, by Golden Missile) won in Saudi Arabia to give the freshman sire winners in eight different countries.
Remanah went straight to the lead in the six furlong dirt race against males and held a slight advantage over a rival during the early stages of the race. The filly’s rider looked confident in the upper stretch as they pulled away from the field. In the final furlong, her margin was closed to a deceiving small half-length but it was enough to record her first victory for owner-breeder Beyareq Alkhil Stable and trainer G. Alghaith.
Remanah is one of five winners for her dam Precious Brownie, who was sold to Saudi Arabia when carrying the filly. Precious Brownie is a half-sister to Grade III winner Dancing With Ruth and Listed winner Brown Eyed Beauty in addition to four other stakes horses.
Among the leading sires of his generation, Competitive Edge’s first crop includes six stakes horses, led by four stakes winners. The Grade I-winning sire has 28 winners worldwide from his first crop, including a Northern Hemisphere-foaled winner in Chile.
