Second Juvenile Win For War Command Colt

Charlemaine (2c War Command - Newyearresolution, by Arch) gained the second win of his juvenile career when scoring over five furlongs at Sandown on Wednesday.

The Paul Cole owned and trained colt showed promise when finishing third on debut in March and followed up with a maiden win next time out over the minimum distance. On his latest start, Sean Levey held the bay up at the back of the field, improving his position from the two furlong pole and quickened well between horses entering the final furlong. Soon leading, he ran on well to win by a length and a quarter.

Bred by Haras Du Mont Dit Mont, Charlemaine is a half-brother to Listed winner Rock Me Baby (Rock Of Gibraltar), who was also placed in the Group 2 Prix de Sandringham.

War Command stood for a fee of €8,000 in 2019.
