Rose Bandit Becomes The Latest Winner By Requinto

Smart Two-Year-Old Winner For Requinto

Rose Bandit (2f Requinto - Poppy’s Rose, by Diktat) built on a promising debut to win the five furlong novice contest at Hamilton on Saturday.

Trained by Stef Keniry for Russell Provan and James McLaughlin, she finished third over course and distance last month. Shane Gray kept the ride and made all of the running, his mount game under pressure when challenged by the short-priced favourite Asmund. Staying on well, she held her rival off by a length on the line.

Bred by M Phelan, Rose bandit is a full-sister to Offline, who finished third in last year’s Listed Rochestown Stakes won by Sergei Prokofiev (Scat Daddy).

Requinto, a high-class two-year-old himself, commands €4,000 this season.
