Mongol Emperor Becomes The Latest Winner By Imperial Monarch

Son Of Imperial Monarch Makes All To Gain Maiden Win

The improving Mongol Emperor (5g Imperial Monarch – Hurricane Bella, by Taipan) led home a 1-2 for handler Andy Slattery in Sunday’s maiden at Turtulla.

The bay was ridden by Eoin O'Brien, partner of all three of his previous starts, in which he had finished in the first four on each occasion. Making all of the running, he gained a six length advantage from halfway and was clear approaching the third last. In command, he drew clear with ease to win by 15 lengths.

Mongol Emperor won in the colours of Mrs Eithne Thompson and was bred by Patrick Thompson. The five-year-old hails from the first crop of Beeches Stud sire Imperial Monarch, whose point-to-point performers have produced two six-figure sales for handlers. Imperial Monarch commands a fee of €2,500.
