Son Of Sans Frontieres Wins Competitive Tyrella Maiden

Ya Boy Ya (5g Sans Frontieres - Mountainviewqueen, by Norwich) became the latest winner by his Beeches Stud sire when taking the competitive Albert Bartlett Five And Six-Year-Old Geldings Maiden at Tyrella on Saturday.

Fourth on debut in November, the Liam Kenny-trained bay was the subject of strong support and his pilot James Kenny showed similar confidence in his ride. Waiting until just before the last to take the lead, his mount ran on strongly to score by four lengths.

Ya Boy Ya was bred by Mrs Breda Spillane and sold for €19,000 to Liam Kenny at the Tattersalls Ireland August NH Sale. Other sons of Sans Frontieres to impress between the flags are six length four-year-old maiden winner Treasure Dillon and Donnchadh Doyle’s winning newcomer Silent Assistant, while under rules, the Nicky Henderson-trained Lomachenko caught the eye when winning his maiden hurdle by six lengths. Sans Frontieres stands for €2,500 this season.
